The latest in urban and cultural horticulture drew in gardeners to the 2017 OHREC Field Day
This past summer, on a beautiful Saturday in July, the research center was pleased to welcome over 725 visitors for the annual K-State OHREC Field Day. 2017 Commercial Fruit and Vegetable Field Day showcased research being conducted in high tunnels
On August 14th, 2017, the research center hosted over 40 commercial growers, extension master gardeners, and students at the Commercial Fruit and Vegetable Research Field Day. Kansas State University horticulture center donates thousands of pounds of produce

Middle school students get their hands dirty at K-State OHREC
In October, the team at OHREC partnered with the K-State Olathe campus K-12 STEM program to give middle school students a chance to get their hands dirty this fall in an effort to educate on horticulture production and food safety. Update from the Extension Master Gardeners
There were oohs and aahs all around when Larry and Randy completed construction of a luxurious lean-to on the back of the garden shed just in time for the field day. It now provides a home for our mowers, trimmers, and tiller, which leaves us with more room and better access to the tools in the main shed. Read more...
